Dump truck, backhoe, trailer stolen in L.V. (4-6-11)

LUCERNE VALLEY • Authorities are searching for suspects who stole a dump truck, backhoe and a flatbed trailer from a Lucerne Valley business sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, officials said.

The items were reported stolen early Monday morning from Alpha Omega Septic Services in the 10400 block of Cody Avenue, according to Cindy Bachman, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Each of the stolen items had identifying numbers displayed and the dump truck had the company logo on it.

According to Alpha Omega employees, the thieves broke in through a side gate. The value of the vehicles was not immediately available.

The dump truck’s license plate number is 8H64091 and it had “#114” written in black on both front fenders. The backhoe is a Case model 5805M with “#111” on both sides. The flatbed trailer had the “#114” on it.

Authorities ask anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the business between Sunday afternoon and 6 a.m. Monday morning to please call the Lucerne Valley station at (760) 248-6686 or call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
