Lucerne Valley Elementary School third- and fourth-graders took part in a worldwide attempt to break a record earlier this month.
The local youngsters did continuous jumping jacks for one minute on Oct. 12 as part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s attempt to get kids excited about exercise while possibly breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.
Dawn Cook, at center in the top photo, and Leah Paddack, rear left in the bottom photo, cheered on their students along with other LVES teachers. The record was broken according to initial reports, though Guinness has not confirmed it as of press time.
