Blaze burns three trailers at Moss

Three other homes threatened by fire

LUCERNE VALLEY • A fire in the Moss Mobile Manor trailer park burned a single-wide trailer, two travel trailers and a car on Oct. 17.

San Bernardino County Fire Station 8 firefighters responded to a call from the park in the 38000 area of Old Woman Springs Road just after 7 p.m.

The three trailers and the car were engulfed in flames, and three more nearby homes were immediately threatened by the blaze, Station 8 Captain Lars Hanson said.

The Station 8 crew saved the nearby homes with help from Cal Fire and Apple Valley Fire personnel. Hanson said the single-wide and the travel trailers were destroyed, and the car was badly damaged.

A woman who inhabited the single-wide trailer was unhurt, Hanson said.

The other two trailers had apparently been used for storage.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by County Fire officials.
